Job Description:

Perform activities related to the day-to-day administration and maintenance of database systems. Handle installations, upgrades, backups, and configuration. Confer with appropriate managers regarding problems with and capabilities of database systems. May do limited amount of design and programming. Career-Level position within field. Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline. Conducts complex work important to the organization. Works under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment. Typically requires six to nine years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Key Qualifications:

SQL DBA with 7+ years’ experience in a mission critical production database environment, including: SQL 2008, 2012, 2014 and 2016
Database Security, Backup and Recovery
Logical and Physical Design
Database Tuning
Performance Tuning at instance and query optimization
Installs, Upgrades and Patches
Support High Availability Architecture, including Always-On
Cluster Replication and DR configuration
VLDB
3+ years Oracle 11g+ database administration preferred

Desired Skills and Experience:

BS Computer Science or degree in technical discipline
SQL Server certification a plus
Experience with Oracle databases is a plus
PowerShell / Windows administration skills a plus
In depth knowledge of SQL instances is a must
Extensive experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting – drill down approach with O/S, database and application
Pro-active database management
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills is a must
Knowledge of MS Office, Outlook, Word and Excel
Be a team player and works well with large teams
In depth experience supporting critical production instances is a must
